Introductional conversation

Studying abroad offers significant opportunities for personal, academic, and social growth. However, it also presents unique challenges such as isolation, performance pressure, and culture shock. If your studies are impacted by mental health issues, seeking help is advisable.

At The Student Psychiatrist, we offer an online introductory meeting to assess if mental health support could be beneficial for you. There is no charge for the introductional conversation.

If The Student Psychiatrist can help you: what’s next?
A referral from a general practitioner is required.

If you don’t have a GP, we can help you by finding a GP.

After we have received the referral, official triage takes place which can have two outcomes:

  1. We will invite you for an intake and treatment.
  2. Our treatment offer does not match your needs in which case we will inform your GP.

We wish you a happy an healthy time in Groningen!
